This will be the last “White House Picture of the Day” diary for at least the next four years.
Going forward, this daily community diary will feature pictures that I have taken over the past 48 years of photography, Bob’s Picture of the Day. I took a photography class in high school my junior year, in '77/'78, and have been taking pictures ever since. I didn't pursue photography as a profession, except for the few years I taught photography to junior high and high school students. I wanted to keep it a hobby.
Over the decades, I've won many awards for my pictures and have been published in a few magazines. While I do own professional equipment, I rarely use it anymore. Most of what I take these days is on my iPhone.
My hope is to bring you a different picture every day, but I have to admit that I don't have 1,460 high-quality images to post over the next four years. I'll be taking new stuff regularly, but I almost guarantee that I'll need to repost images I've posted here in the past as well.
Tomorrow's first image will be a photograph I've posted quite a few times here over the years. It's my all-time favorite picture, so I figure I should start with that one.
Throwback Thursday will continue, so make sure you check in on Thursdays to see a few pictures from former Democratic Presidents. They will continue to be under the fold where they've been for the past four years.
Buckle up everyone, here we go.
Bob
