Well, the news this week has warmed my little, frozen Wisconsin heart. Although, I haven't been a Wisconsin resident in over thirty years, so I couldn't take an active part in the small triumph. I suppose this means I can't expect any checks in the mail.
This diary is all set to be more of my summer vacation photos. At this rate, I'll be able to stretch 10 days in Ireland into a full year's worth of Friday open threads.
After our tasting tour of the Jameson Distillery, we wandered through the streets of Dublin.
The downtown had been remarkably well preserved.
I mean, the famous song is about a poor girl who sells cockles and mussels, who dies and then haunts the streets of Dublin. An enormous statue is errected of her in a town square and tourists rub her bronze teats for some reason.
We sang this sad, sweet little song in elementary school. The statue makes the whole thing seem crass and ugly.
Trinity College
Really quite a beautiful campus. Just what I'd have expected from the oldest University in Ireland.
Thanks for stopping by.
This is an open thread, open to links promoting your own diaries, your causes and charities, open to your news, your rants, your venting. And, as always, open to ideas of what should be for dinner.
