Pootie Pad Kickstarter - Comments, please!

Out of the Pootie diaries here on Daily Kos, my sister and I invented a product, something to augment our slender living while we make our community quilts.  We have created herb-filled quilts for pets and their people, something we call the Pootie Pad.  Ann and I have started a Kickstarter campaign to get our small business to the next level, so we can make a truly living wage for ourselves — because we have been only squeaking by and too often need help.  We would much, much

rather make our own way!  With that in mind, the goal of this Kickstarter is to raise funds for a website update, advertising, and for the materials and time it takes to make a stock of goods to meet increased demand for our quilted herb-filled pads.  We have very little time to achieve this — we are 34% 36% 37% 56% 58% 59% there with less than a week to go.  Now time is of the essence!

Here is my plea…  Anyone who has bought Pootie Pads, whether for cats, dogs, or a lavender pad or quilt for themselves, would you please sign up on Kickstarter, make a pledge (I think as little as a dollar will do it but of course any amount to help us reach our goal is deeply appreciated!) and leave a testimonial in the comment section.  The way Kickstarter works, you can’t leave a comment without being a backer.  It will help us immensely to have a good showing of backers and a populated comment section.

This is a wonderful product. The quilting is exquisite, and the catnip must be good because my kitty loves hers. At first it kind of made her crazy, which was fun, but now it seems to calm her down when something scares her. I've seen pictures of many quilts and pet pads these ladies make, and they are so gorgeous I'm thinking of getting a lap sized one for me!

I'm supporting the project simply because the product is so great. My two cats love the two pads we bought a couple (or more?) years ago. When I bought a back-up, they wouldn't leave the delivery package alone until I stashed it in a remote location. I want to help ensure that these pads remain available and so I am supporting the kickstarter.

I am convinced that one reason my dog has abandoned sleeping on the bed with me is that her pad is in HER bed. She loved it from the very beginning, and when she was hospitalized overnight I took the pad to the hospital so she would have something comfy and familiar to sleep with.

My cat sometimes sleeps on his pootie pad, sometimes "wrassles" it, and has been known to play hall surfing on it. The pad is beautiful to look at but tough enough to take whatever my cat is in the mood to dish out. Excellent craftswomanship and, needless to say, American made. Definitely an excellent gift to your own pet or to any friend or family member who has a pet.
