"Indivisible" can work positively too, let's not forget that.

In the last 10 days or so, I have written a couple of different diaries about the wonderful online document “Indivisible”, a blueprint on how to fight Trumpenstein and his agenda. There have been a couple of other diaries that have highlighted it, or at least gone into some detail on it as well. Rachel Maddow did an entire segment on it on her show Wednesday, when one of the founders told her that as they spoke, they had some 350 small, local groups who had signed up with them. On Friday night, Rachel had an update. In the 48 hours since her show, the founder told her that the enrollment had swelled up to more than 1550 groups. What can I say, people are hungry to fight Mein Furor.

The document itself is simple, about 24 pages long, direct and easy to understand. It relates the basic mechanics of the small, local grassroots pressure that local constituents in the Tea Party used to wield undue influence over their Members of Congress. It requires no money or organization, just like minded people who make a phone call or drive over to show up at a town hall or their MoC’s office when they’re in attendence. Apparently it is energizing people as it’s catching fire.

But there is a yang to this yin. Most of the instructions are on how to use pressure points to bend the MoC’s will on an issue he or she may not agree with. But there is a more positive way that the same things can be put to use. Here’s how.

At least for the moment, Democrats in the Senate, especially ones on committees that are holding hearings on appointees are digging in their heels and fighting tooth and hail to fight the GOP on their nominees. Democrats in the House presented petitions begging VP Biden to not certify the Electoral College results. I’ve been an underdog, on losing teams, and it ain’t much fun, in fact it tends to be a rather thankless job.

So, here’s what I propose. If we can call our GOP MoC’s to hold them to task, if we can go to their town halls and offices and public events to confront them directly, wouldn’t it make sense to reward our people too? Pay attention, Google your Democratic MoC’s, if they’re slacking, hold their feet to the fire exactly how you would with their GOP counterparts. But if they are fighting the good fight, then show appreciation! Call their office and compliment them for their efforts. Go to their district office when they’re there, shake their hand and thank them for their efforts. Tell them what you’re doing to do your part. I know, it’s hard to be deserted out on an island, but it’s a lot easier if you know that there are other survivors there with you, and that they approve of the way you’re trying to make a raft. If they’re going to fight for us, let’s make sure we show them that we appreciate their efforts on our behalf.
