Program Description
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a community service and work based training program for older workers. Authorized by the Older Americans Act, the program provides subsidized, service-based training for low-income persons 55 or older who are unemployed and have poor employment prospects.
Participants have access to both SCSEP services and other employment assistance usually found through your local Unemployment Office Vocational Rehabilitation Dept.

Goal: SCSEP provides both community services and work-based training. Participants work an average of 25 hours a week, and are paid the highest of federal, state or local minimum wage. They are placed in a wide variety of community service activities at non-profit and public facilities, including day-care centers, senior centers, schools and hospitals.
It is intended that community service training serves as a bridge to un-subsidized employment opportunities; SCSEP's goal is to place 30% of its authorized positions into un-subsidized employment annually.

Pass Plan And Ticket To Work Are For Those Already On Regular type Social Security, SSI And Or SSDI Who Feel That They Are Able To Return To Work, Full or Part Time, And Need Training And Supplies.
There is no penalty for failing! Anyone who tries Pass Plan And Ticket To Work And After Time Is Not Successful in their work goals. No penalty at all! I got my computer from this program. btw I failed! But I got my computer and a desk chair and some clothes before I did.
The Pass Plan Also Offers Assistance For All Social Security Participants Who Want To Start A Small Business of their own.

Don't fall for that employment network who wants $400.00 to do your pass plan application.
Although if you want to start your own business. You may need help to create your business plan, maybe not. Pass gives you the instructions how to do that too.
It's a simple application, won't take more than a couple of hours to do. Pace yourself, do a little whenever you have time and soon it will be completed. Don't try to do it all at one time.
You can fill it out by hand. Print, in black ink, neatly. Will be fine.
I was told by my person who handles my case that "they want people to be approved and succeed so they will work with the client in order to get their plan approved".
In other words, if you fill out the application completely and correctly and there are any issues they need to work out. They will ask you more questions and you can reply from there.
You all come to a conclusion about what you get together. You don't need an Employment Network to fill out the form, or know just what to do or say.
Just fill it out as best you can, the Pass Program will contact you if it needs to be amended. Don't pay Four Hundred Dollars out of your SSI check, even if they say oh, it's just small monthly installments.
Never pay for services. Anyone who wants money is in business. You don't need to buy this service. Real easy to do yourself, or with a friend's help. You could type it up if you know how. Still easy. I did mine myself, and I sure didn't know much about what I was doing. I just answered the questions to the best of my ability.

The Ticket Program is part of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999, legislation designed to remove many of the barriers that previously influenced people’s decisions about going to work because of the concerns over losing health care coverage.
The goal of the Ticket Program is to increase opportunities and choices for Social Security disability beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR), and other support services from public and private providers, employers, and other organizations.
One employment Network AA Take Charge will let you keep 75 percent of your SSI, For Three Years.
There are many other Employment Networks. Each offers a different kind of service.
Do Not Give Any Part Of Your Ticket Away For Even Seemingly Small Amounts. It's Cash! I was told by Maximus, the agency that oversees the ticket program to go with the Employment Network that offers me the most. Take the best deal, they said shop around with your ticket.
All Three of these programs can be worked simultaneously.
