Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Street Prophets Coffee Hour, an open thread conveniently located at the intersection of Religion and Politics. To start us off today, I thought we’d do a short photo essay of St. Steven’s Green in Dublin, Ireland.
As in most large cities, Dublin has a number of large parks where people often come to feel apart from the hustle and bustle of every-day city life. St. Steven’s Green was originally a medieval commons and as such was the site for many executions. In 1664, the area was enclosed and over time was surrounded by some fine Georgian buildings. Today the park provides Dubliners and tourists with 22 acres of green grass, trees, a pond, and a serene place to relax.
The photographs below were taken on a sunny day that brought lots of people out to the park.
This is an open thread.
