Youffraita’s letter was written on the 16th so she may even drop by and correct any mistakes I make. That would be wonderful.
She says she has a room of her own now and is paying a bit extra for the use of the kitchen. She was hoping to get her things out of storage this week and also hoping for wifi so she can hook up her computer and come back to us.
Fingers crossed that this will happen and she will be here soon.

Oh! I may get custody of a cat, too. The woman on the 3rd floor has three and has been talking about getting rid of one and there's one in particular who likes to come down and visit-likes me, likes Bill (the friend she has been staying with), and would probably like staying with him during the day & me at night. mettle fatigue: I miss all y'all! Try explaining "pootie people" to people IRL who have ZERO clue what you're referring to. (Or transom alligators for that matter). Hope to be back soon-need a new surge protector before I can plug in, though. Will be going shopping soon...Mattresses can wait; surge protectors are IMPORTANT.
Portlaw: I used to see bats at sunset in Central Park up by the pond at West 103rd St. I think the entrance is from Central Park West at 101. Not sure. It's a great small pond-where I first ID'd immature black-crowned night herons. ("Is that an owl?" one kid asked.) Used to see the occasional kingfisher there, too.
You want bats? We got BATS! Lol-miss ya, buddy.
reppa: Not weird to love Pern series & its dragons. FWIW, we are all a bit weird at GOS. Can't wait to get back on line & interact with ya in real time, not snail mail.
SenSho: NOT kind of me, just saying what your posts have meant to me through the years. Esp. b/c I was at work & got to read whole threads when I got home. Wow! What fun! And usually only my Pacific Coast friends, cfk, & sometimes Belinda Ridgewood were awake by then.

Her new computer has Windows 10 and the day she got it she was not able to get it to play sound with YouTube (and then had to store it)...if anyone has any thoughts on how to fix that...
She can't remember the code for paste: CTL + what? (I don't use the code so I don't have a clue).
If she gets back then any of you who want to do so can contact her with DKos mail about anything she might still need to settle in. If she is not back soon, I will write another snail mail letter. I have saved Brecht's reply and can send it or I can send it to her by Kos mail here hopefully soon.
Please leave comments below and if she returns she can find them or if she doesn't, I can copy them into a snail mail letter for her once more.
