SPOTLIGHT HELPER:

Like a lot of fellow kossacks, I started out as a lurker. I started getting the Kos email (I’m guessing some charity sold their mailing list) and would go read the top stories. During the primaries last year, I found myself actively going to Kos to seek out stories about my candidate...HRC. What I found was the HNR diaries and other stories of interest from outside the VUTB diaries. I took the plunge and created my account on May 13, 2016 and was off and running (more like a fast walk).

I had lots of questions when I finally worked up enough nerve to ask (it took forever for me to comment to a story or comment) and that’s when I knew I had found a special friend, bfitz. She. Always. Took. The. Time. To. Respond. No question was too small or too stupid. I learned how to get my mojo up (rec the diary, tip jar and comments) and, when I wrote my first diary, she proofread it for me and walked me through publishing it. I’ve learned how to give {{{HUGS}}} and how to exit pie fights (I’ve never thrown a flag). She became my conscience. The love and kindness she showed to everyone made me want to emulate her. I wanted to become a better person. To give even more than I think I could to those on her lists. Yes, I did come for the politics, but I stayed for the community and, most importantly, for bfitinAR.

I decided when bfitz was banned, to take my post and make it into a farewell card for her. We never get to say goodbye online (I’m fortunate to call her friend and have contact outside of the blogosphere) so she may not know what she means to all of us. With that in mind, please leave a comment and/or a pootie picture or two for the best helper that I have ever known...bfitzinAR.

Two Florida police officers are being hailed as heroes after helping a 91 year old buy her groceries. Read on to see what else they did for her.

During a recent trip to a Publix grocery store, a 91-year-old was happy to talk to a fellow shopper in the produce section. But while she was distracted, another man grabbed her wallet from her open purse and walked out of the store before she even realized what had happened.

I won’t say what I’m thinking about the family who abandoned this sweet baby

HS football player with cerebral palsy scores 80 yard touchdown.

Dreams do come true.

A Virginia high school senior with cerebral palsy got to finally play under the Friday night lights over the weekend, and he ran for an 80-yard touchdown.

Love me a happy ending.
