Today is ANZAC Day for Australians and New Zealanders. It begins solemnly at dawn with a memorial ceremony for service men and women, past and present. We pay special tribute to the original ANZACS — the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps — who fought a losing battle on the shores of Gallipoli in 1915.
ANZAC Day is a national holiday so after the solemn ceremonies, it’s home for breakfast before we’re off again, this time to line the main streets for the morning parades. By lunch time, we start to tackle the really fun stuff — barbeques, beer and wine with family, friends and furbutts!
