Thousands march against climate change. American media downplay it.

As I write this thousands of people are in the streets in San Francisco, protesting against climate change as part of the Rise for Climate movement. This is part of a series of marches in the US and worldwide today. This is much larger than the Charlottesville protests last year (50 white racists and about 1000 counterprotesters). Shouldn’t the US media be covering it at least as well as they did Charlottesville? And if the US media are not covering it as much (which they’re not), why do you suppose that is? Why do a small number of white racists get enormous US media coverage, while a much larger number of concerned citizens get downplayed? Is it only because the racists kill, and the climate-change protesters have been peaceful so far?
